  ROOF TRUSS INVESTIGATION
  
  Per owner request we have completed the review of the roof trusses that required
  shortening, the field built scissor truss, and the coped floor joists.
  
  The sketches on p. 2 & 3 show the reinforcement required to ensure adequate
  load carrying capacity for the trusses. Please note that the diagonal drywall
  nailers running along the ends of the trusses are needed for stability, and must
  remain in place. Drywalling up to these nailers will provide additional stability,
  and it is assumed that this will be done.
  
  The 12" floor joists by manufacturer that are coped to approximately 8" depth at
  one end, have adequate shear capacity. Published design data has been used to verify
  this. No further reinforcement is necessary. The stiffeners already installed are a
  strength benefit, and should remain in place.
